About Original Penguin
Original Penguin is an American clothing brand founded in 1955 by Munsingwear, based on a whimsical story of how a salesman named Abbot Pederson bought a stuffed penguin named Pete and embroidered it on a golf shirt. It’s a brand with the iconic Pete penguin logo that mixes retro, mid-century style with modern sportswear. The brand is known for its humour, fun and attention to detail, with clothing, accessories and fragrances focusing on casualwear and a modern lifestyle. Original Penguin continues its American classic status by taking cues from its mid-century design archive and reinterpreting it with sustainable fabrics that are on-trend.
