About Hilditch & Key
Charles F. Hilditch and W. Graham Key started Hilditch & Key in 1899. It quickly became known as one of the best-dressed stores in London. In the early 1900s, they opened their first store on Jermyn Street. In 1907, we opened a store in Paris, which was their first store outside of the UK. Hilditch & Key grew along Jermyn Street over the next few decades, and by the end of the century, we had three stores on the street.
In the 1950s, when shirts were still only made to order, they were one of the first companies to make ready-to-wear shirts. This helped them become known as one of the best shirtmakers. Hilditch & Key designed and made clothes for some of the best designers of the time, including Dior, Worth, Chanel, Lacoste, and Givenchy.
